I am absolutely saddened and disgusted by the decision today, Friday, August 24, 2012, that Samsung was found guilty of infringing on Apple patents and that they have to pay one billion dollars to Apple, and that Apple was not found guilty of infringing on any of Samsung's patents. I understand that you have to protect your intellectual property, but I believe you do that by making something that is new and innovative instead protecting something that is simplified and dumbed down.

I am also annoyed that Apple shut down all of its web services and replaced it with the iCloud. I used to have all of my web pages published on mac.com, but I had to transfer them to another provider. Many people did not transfer their pages in time and those pages are now inaccessible and/or completely lost.

That said, I am so disappointed with Apple that I can no longer in good faith develop software on the OS X and iOS platforms. From now on, I will only be developing Linux and Android applications. If Apple continues down the path they are on, and if, for some unholy reason, they manage to win against Google, I may then have to stop developing for Android. If that happens, I will stop developing applications publicly.

While I'm on my soapbox, I hope you will join me in boycotting all Avid products because of what they did to the UK Sibelius team.
